Brady Productions LLC, and Kix 92.9 Country are proud to present the return of the popular “War on the Peace River” professional boxing series to the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, in Punta Gorda, on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Jeff Brady, retired nine year veteran of the NFL has teamed up with Florida Boxing Hall of Fame trainer Steve Canton and recently formed his promotional company. Jeff, who has always been a boxing fan, wanted to be instrumental in helping aspiring boxers to realize their dreams and has decided to give them the opportunity to do so.
His first step was to surround himself with excellent boxing people. Florida Boxing Hall of Fame 2010 Inductee, and local icon, Bob Alexander, will be the ring announcer of all his shows. Lee Anderson, sports columnist for the Charlotte Sun and a knowledgeable boxing person, is the fight matchmaker.
His first event will be a terrific show, as former WBO #1 rated world title contender, Freeman “The Natural” Barr will headline. Barr, a 16 year veteran of the fight game with a record of 28-4, with 15 knockouts, has won five various titles in three weight divisions, and looks to bring a major title to Southwest Florida.
Also appearing on the show will be Port Charlotte’s local pro, “Tough” Theo Kruger, a cruiserweight who is looking forward to fighting at home and showcasing his talents. Undefeated “Dynamite” Domonique Dolton (7-0), an Emanuel Steward protégé and labeled “a can’t miss prospect,” will also be in action. Former amateur champion and Haitian Olympian slick “Silky” Wilky Campfort, 4-1 as a pro, is looking forward to impressing local fans as is Tampa’s undefeated middleweight sensation “Sweet” Marquis Davis and undefeated Jr. middleweight Manny "Shake em' up" Woods. SJC Boxing’s Jesus Lule, an exciting, crowd pleasing Jr. Lightweight from Fort Myers says he will “steal the show.” All in all, it promises to be a great night of action.
Many boxing and NFL luminaries will be in attendance to meet and greet the fans, take pictures with and sign autographs for. Boxing headquarters is the Four Points by Sheraton, in Punta Gorda and the weigh in will take place there the evening before the event. John Hall’s Goal Post Sports Bar and Grill will host a Sunday August 15, 2010 afternoon public workout complete with sparring of some of the fighters on the show. Kix 92.9 Country radio will have a live radio remote that day, and also at the weigh in.
Tickets are $75.00 for Elite Ringside, $35.00 for Reserved Ringside, and $20.00 for General Admission, and are available at the Event & Conference Center Box Office, in Punta Gorda
